Asher Tessier Proud Mary is such an important and necessary space. I’ve never felt more at home at a store. As a fat person, going clothes shopping can be a daunting and stressful experience. At Proud Mary, I was in a sea of choices for the first time in my life. To have choices as a plus size person was so empowering and the owner is a vintage sourcing wizard. Every piece was a win!! I’m so lucky to live close to this space and be able to go to the community events too. It’s not just an amazing store but also a space to commune and exist safely with other fat bodies. Oh and the accessories, silly bumper stickers, and FIRE vintage home goods just add to the beauty of the store. A must see!

Kris Barnard My son at 5 years old expressed an interest in taking a class to learn basic clothing construction skills and without a doubt that has been fulfilled. Starting in hand sewing making felt animals, to learning how to use a sewing machine, selecting patterns, cutting, pinning, measuring, sewing buttons and snaps, and finishing several pieces of his own clothing. Not only has he learned skills that will help him throughout his life, his sewing has helped with improving his hand writing and practical math. The staff is nothing short of incredible. Both of my kids love them and talk about them between our weekly classes. They do an incredible job of meeting each child where they are and supporting them, while allowing space for growth of new skills. The Sonora School of Sewing and Apparel Construction is one of the brightest gems of Sonora.

Y. She took in my faja about 2 inches! She does post-op garments and only charged me $15 for one of mine. I cant find anyone in Stockton who works with fabric thats thick, so Im glad I went to her. Side note: her stitching is done in the middle of the abdomen area on both sides, so be aware this could cause dents if your within a couple weeks of post-surgery. (Refer to the YouTube channel Taimeoutmassage for taking in a faja on the flanks) Im already 6 weeks, so I didnt worry about indentations. The yellow lines are next to where she took in my faja. Joana Redman We loved this place. We were looking for Santa Cruz hoodies and this place was so cool cause we could instantly customize shirts, hoodies, sweat pants. Fun selection of different designs. Owner was so sweet, friendly and welcoming. She went above and beyond helping us out and letting us be able to preview different styles. Fun place and definitely would recommend and come back here again.

Bethany Smith This store is my go-to! The employees are always amazing and they always have new stuff for all age groups! I am never disappointed with the products at this store and can confidently say you need to check out Urban Couture ASAP!

K Mon This is one of my favorite stores!! Its the best place to get a gift for someone and a good laugh. Funniest socks, oven mits, and soooo many other things. I love that theyre open late - so if youre out for an evening walk, theyre open even after restaurants close!
