5 /5 Tyrone: The New Gold Standard for Heavyweight Basics
For a long time, American Apparel was my absolute go-to for everything, but Los Angeles Apparel has completely surpassed that legacy.
It’s not just a replacement; it’s an upgrade in every possible way quality, cut, and fit.
What sets LAA apart is the heft. I’m a huge fan of their heavier, thicker fabrics. Their t-shirts are massive (the 1801 series is a masterclass in weight), and the track pants and shorts have a structure that you just dont find in standard retail anymore. They feel substantial, like they’re built to last a lifetime of wear and washes without losing their shape.
Even though we don’t have a physical store here in Toronto, ordering online is seamless. I usually just get a ton of stuff at once because once you feel the difference in the weight of their cotton, it’s hard to go back to anything else. If you appreciate a boxy, high-quality fit that feels "real," this is the only place to look.
