4 /5 Andrew Klein: Nice old style high end department store - they have kept it updated as best a high end department store can but lots of the same items with more selection are sold in individual boutiques in the same mall. But the people are nice and friendly and the cafe at the top is a wonderful little gem from the past - the popovers are really tasty. But everything youd expect from a high end department store.

1 /5 Aman Gill: I ordered a baby girl Burberry dress from Neiman Marcus for store pickup, with the understanding that it would be ready before Dec 5, as I was leaving San Francisco for Canada for the holidays. Despite this, the dress wasn’t available for pickup until Dec 8, after I had already left. I called the store at least three times to ask whether the dress could be shipped to me in Canada. No one could give me a clear answer. Each time, I was told someone would call me back, and they took down my phone number — but no one ever followed up. I remained patient and tried to find alternative solutions, but the lack of communication and ownership was incredibly frustrating. In the end, I had no choice but to ask a friend in SF to pick up the dress and ship it to me. This cost me $65 in shipping, plus $80 in duties — expenses that could have been completely avoided with basic customer service and timely communication. For a luxury retailer, this level of service is unacceptable. Neiman Marcus completely dropped the ball, and I won’t be shopping here again. I should’ve stuck with Nordstrom.

I went in looking to purchase some fragrances and she went above and beyond to help me get exactly what I was looking for. She made me feel welcomed and had the answers to every concern/question that I had. She made my whole experience remarkable!

1 /5 ch vi: I had a really uncomfortable experience at the Neiman Marcus in Stanford Shopping Center today, specifically in the ROW section on the second floor. I was quietly browsing some pants when a sales associate approached me and offered help. I told her I was just looking, but she kept suggesting to help anyway. A little later, another associate came over, took the pants from my hands, and started a fitting room for me. At that point, the first associate came back, became visibly upset with her coworker in front of me, and the two of them essentially started arguing over who was “helping” me. It was incredibly awkward to stand there while they were competing over me like I was a commission, not a customer. When I asked if this was commission-based, she said yes and then proceeded to hover around me until I went into the fitting room. The whole thing felt tense, unprofessional, and the opposite of a luxury shopping experience. I understand commission-based sales, but there’s a way to do it with grace and class. Neiman Marcus is supposed to represent a high standard of service. I really hope management trains their staff to work as a team, not fight over customers on the sales floor.
