5 /5 Chelsea M.: We stumbled upon SiyaaShree kind of by accident, we kept hitting endless traffic, missed our initial appointment elsewhere, and over a disappointing roadside dinner, discovered this little gem on Google! We were so excited they were open later than the others as we have to travel far to come to these specialty shops. From the moment we anxiously called and asked them if they could still help us, Rajani and Sumit were so kind and accommodating. I don’t like shopping for formal wear- I have never been conventionally thin, and have been shamed by many shops over the years. Evidently, my size is a challenge to find in ethnic wear as well! But Rajani and Sumit never once made me feel bad about my size, saying that it’s just because of proportions, and differences in styles, etc. They tirelessly showed me several lehengas, kurtas, tops and more. Sadly, none of them fit, but when I was loosing hope, as the event was fast approaching, they let me know that they also have skirts that fit everyone and I could pair them with a western style blouse if I wanted too! Rajani told me what fabrics and styles to look for and let me know my options. And wow, do they ever have an amazing skirt selection! I went home, looked at the skirts on their website, ordered a few tops that I thought could work on Amazon prime, let them know what I was thinking via Whatsapp and headed back two days later. They were ready for me with accompanying accessories and advice about what I had purchased and if it would work or not. They also found a top in their shop that a local tailor could tailor to my size that matched a saree I already had as we didn’t have enough time to sew the top. If you have never wore a saree, they consist of like 9 yards of fabric and they have a top piece that needs to be cut off and other parts that need to be added. They’re complicated! Their local tailor managed to turn this complicated garment into a “1 minute saree,” with pre pleating, and custom hooks! Ahhh finally “sarees for dummies!” After my own Indian wedding two years ago, I had lost faith that I could ever navigate this market successfully but Rajani took me under her wing like a wise sister figure! We ended up with a shirt, a belt, a blouse, pre pleating for a saree and a skirt for my mom as they were so pretty! I would love to purchase some of their hand painted art or jewelry in the future. Was so pleased with this shop and will return in the future!
