V-Mart - (Near San Jose, CA)

JoAnn SkyWatcher I have been a fan of thrift stores since first started buying my own clothes. Something Ive learned is that its best to shop at thrift stores in communities that are more affluent than neighborhoods that have less money. This afternoon we stopped by San Rafael (an affluent area) to pick up some lunch. My partner pointed to a thrift store that was across the street from the restaurant, and said, "theres a good thrift store," (he had passed it by before, and noted that it probably had some really good stuff. That store was Hodgepodge, and he was correct. They have really nice items, that they sell for very reasonable prices. The volunteers there know how to create beautiful displays, too. I was looking for a pair of bell bottom pants, but couldnt find any--darn. I also had to promise myself that I wasnt going to buy anything besides bellbottoms (because my house is already FULL). I LOVE this thrift store!!! They offer really nice items (some very unique) for reasonable prices. The staff was both friendly and helpful. And the proceeds go to help with hospice care in Marin County.

Maria Castro Such a great experience at Bonita’s Boutique! No one in the area had the style my daughter wanted for her 15 dress, but they custom made it exactly how she envisioned it. The dress arrived in just a few months, with plenty of time for alterations and still lots of time before her 15 party, which made everything so easy and stress-free. They also have dresses for everyone else in the party. I got my dress there, along with the grandma of the 15 and cousins. Everyone was so sweet, patient, and really took their time helping us find the perfect dresses. Highly recommend!
