5 /5 Elizabeth Dickson-Gavney: I had the BEST experience at Community in Athens. I was visiting town and needed a dress for a costume party, and Community was listed as one of the top vintage shops in Athens—so I started there first. I’m so glad I did. Caroline, Hayley, and Tiffany were AMAZING. I shared my costume idea and they immediately jumped in with enthusiasm, creativity, and the kind of “we’ve got you” energy you hope for but don’t always find — like having stylish fairy godmothers in real life. I found a gorgeous vintage 1960s dress that matched the theme perfectly, but it needed alterations, and Hayley worked absolute magic in *less than two days*. She added sleeves, the sweetest buttons, and a pink sash that pulled the whole look together. It was beyond what I even imagined. And Tiffany went above and beyond: I stopped by on my way to the party so she could tie the sash into a perfect bow, and they were so accommodating and kind about it. They also gave me great recommendations for where to find jewelry and shoes to finish the outfit, which made the whole experience feel truly personal and fun. Community has officially won a customer for life—this will be a must-stop for me every time I’m in Athens.

5 /5 Annie Bryan: I got alterations done here for two garments. Tiffany was very friendly and accommodating. She did exactly what I wanted and even took extra time to make my dress perfect when I wasn’t originally happy with it. The prices are reasonable. An employee called to make sure I was still happy with my garments several days after I picked them up, which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely be using them again for any alterations I need!

They save SO many of my older favorite clothes when I break a zipper, the elastic just wears out, or I just want that cute dress to actually fit me. But they also have the cutest up-thrifted clothes... And whenever I have family or friends come visit, this is my one stop shop for a cool Athens Gift Box where I can custom pick great local gifts such as Condor Chocolates, honey, nut mixes, hand towels, lotions, and more. Staff is always welcoming and helpful, too. Go check them out!

Like a top but don’t know when you’d wear it or how to incorporate it into your everyday wardrobe? They have ideas. Love a vintage piece but wish it fit better? They can alter it. Want a unique, Georgia-made gift—a necklace, a candle, a print for your wall?—they’ve got you covered on all fronts. I love recommending this store to others almost as much as I love browsing it myself!
