5 /5 T Dickerson: Our anniversary stay at Oaks on the River Boutique Hotel was truly unforgettable, and that’s entirely because of the incredible people who made us feel so genuinely cared for. We didn’t even have reservations for the hotel—we found Oaks on the River online, pulled up, and hoped for the best. From the moment we arrived, Ryleigh completely elevated the experience. She was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond at check-in, making sure we had the perfect room for our anniversary. That level of thoughtfulness turned a spontaneous stop into something truly special. Later that evening, Carleigh made our anniversary dinner just as memorable. Her service was attentive, professional, and perfectly timed, making the entire dining experience feel top notch. It’s rare to find a place where people genuinely care about creating memorable moments, but Oaks on the River delivers on every level. Between the beautiful property and the exceptional service, this hotel sets a very high bar for boutique hospitality. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special stay even if it’s a last-minute decision.

5 /5 BoilerUp 77: A great pre-Valentines Day location and offering! We used the day to explore Darian and its surroundings with lunch at The Canopy and both dinner/accommodations at Oaks on The River. Rooms are very spacious with this trip providing room a balcony facing the River/marsh. Great sunset (attached) noting its location provides easy walking access to Skipper/Tabby House/The Marsh / and Rivers Edge. The crown of today was a enjoying a great dinner (3 floors down from our room).. Service was very good with an exceptional dinner of Pecan Crusted Trout and Louisiana Gumbo. It closed-out a fun celebration with Oaks on The River making it even more special. Thanks also for the special gift - greeting too!

4 /5 Dee Cue: I am between a 3 and a 4. The staff was great!! Everyone we encountered was lovely. The room was clean, but it felt very crammed with furniture. Large furniture. There was not enough room for the size of the nightstand to allow for one on each side of the bed, which I found odd. I would go back, but request (and pay for) a larger room with a view of the water rather than the historic Darien view. The prices at the restaurant seemed a bit high, and the menu didnt seem too varied for someone who is not a seafood person. The location is nice as its only a few miles from the highway. I enjoyed the small balcony and the roosters that roam around. The church bell chimes were a nice bonus. No microwave in the room, and the fridge is in the closet. LOL I would never imagine giving this place a 1 star. In fact, I was sort of surprised at the number of 1 stars they got. Maybe people expect too much from a "Resort".

5 /5 Ivey Lamos: We absolutely loved our stay at this charming place. Beautiful rooms and location. The restaurant was very nice as well. I was very impressed with the gym and heated pool. There are qaint shops and other restaurants to walk to nearby. I hope to come back.

Even with a very diverse group with different expectations, Oaks received amazing reviews from our guests. The accommodations were exceptional and the rooms spacious and well appointed. The restaurant and bars were also very good. Highly recommend!
