1 /5 Marie Kostenski: ***Edit- I have reached out via email through the “Plato’s Closet” website to your store, and have not received a reply back within a month. I will not be shopping here again and hope that the people reading this review won’t either. I will be taking my business to another retailer like Clothes Mentor next door, who do not have rude employees nor overpriced merchandise. No wonder this store only has 3 stars and I’m hoping the owner can put a slight effort in to run the store better, but I highly doubt it.
I’m genuinely disappointed by my experiences at this store. During my first visit, I overheard the employees joking about “feeling bad” for an elderly woman, saying they’d bought her jewelry out of pity. This came across as unprofessional and insensitive. I also asked to see an item displayed on the counter, only to be told, “It’s not available yet,” with no clear explanation or help when I asked when it would be. The employees were more concerned about their conversation than answering my simple question.
I tried to reach out to the owner by email to express my concerns politely, but I never received a response. Despite this, I decided to give the store another chance today, hoping for improvement. Unfortunately, the cashier didn’t acknowledge me or say a single word, even though I greeted her kindly. As someone with experience in customer service, I’d never ignore a polite customer, so this was disappointing to say the least.
This store has potential, but the consistent lack of courtesy and professionalism from the staff leaves a lot to be desired. I had hoped for a better experience but was let down repeatedly. I won’t be returning, and I hope the store considers improvements to better serve its customers.
