1 /5 Carly Ledbetter: I was extremely disappointed Saturday afternoon when I came through. I have been to this boutique a couple times before. Being that it’s in Petersburg, not often only when we frequent the wineries and local brewery. There was one girl working who didn’t even acknowledge myself or my friends as we walked in. She was on her phone the entire time, which is fine, some stores operate that way… and we were self-sufficient so it’s all good but it makes sense as to how we felt while we were in the store. I kindly searched for a fitting room as I was trying on a hat, I aimlessly looked to no avail before I asked, and rudely was replied there over there.. and I look and she goes “in the fitting room….” Most places, especially those that sell higher inventory in accessories have mirrors outside the fitting rooms— but apparently I was stupid for asking for the snarky the response I was given. As we were getting ready to wind up the shopping trip.. I hear the girl put on her coat (it wasn’t quiet and then she slams her purse on the counter. Awkward. It was 6:00pm on the nose. We walk up to the register and still… no, did you find everything ok? Are you ready to check out. (We stood there for a good 60 seconds before she even made eye contact) this was to the point wheee my friend had to put her item on the counter to get her attention. After being a retail manager for 12 years for a company known for their concierge customer service, I understand people have their off days. I also know what it’s like to be held up after closing time. We would close and would be there at a minimum of 30 minutes after I GET IT, but this was unacceptable. Prior to that, the experience from the time we walked in the door was cold and when we left it was freezing. I love local businesses and frequent them often, and when I can.. but this experience was one I would like to forget.
