5 /5 Eat, Shop, Explore Illinois: If youre looking for a day of exploring and treasure hunting, then this is the spot for you! Two building filled with amazing vintage, handmade and unique items. Very kid friendly. I cant wait to go back to see more!

5 /5 Vintage Things: One of a kind place. 5 stars because at times it’s more of an art installation than a store and I really enjoyed that and want stores like this to thrive. Many of the vendors understood the assignment and have wonderfully staged booths. Lots of new stuff for gifts (meh, but I know you need to make $)and the usual booths that look like every item came from a thrift store. Huge variety of ephemera if you collage, scrapbook, planners, etc. they have done a stellar job creating an environment that is like nothing I’ve experienced in my antiquing. That said- it’s vintage and youthful. Far more 70’s, 80’s, 90’s leaning. I’m glad I made the drive to visit. However- I didn’t buy much. The pricing in a fair amount of booths I found to be above market pricing. I go to enough stores to have a good sense of what current values are. Hunting for vintage Christmas and found single Shiny Brites for $20 each. So that was really off putting to me and I found many booths to be overpriced. There’s a fine line between pricing vintage so it is profitable but not more than what it costs online. Big props for creating an amazing experience- I loved that. But I’m not sure I would make the drive again because of pricing. I can find most of those things in Chicagoland for less $.

5 /5 Andrea K: Our new little treasure shop! Found this place just last week, and it is filled with so many awesome things. Not to mention, the way each vendor sets up their booth is cute and appealing, and there are many cute pohoto ops, so it makes the experience even more fun. They have a variety of clothes, door knobs, picture frames, vases, toys, cameras... I mean, just a little bit of everything. They are open 7 days a week - yes, even sunday fun day. Closed only on Thanksgiving & Christmas. So stop by, we definitely recommend and follow them on Instagram! @shoptruenorth

1 /5 Blu Ruby: Warning for my fellow BIPOC community. I would not recommend True North. The cashier profiled my husband and I. My husband was holding a toy story trick or treat pail I wanted to purchase. The pail did have a few other items inside. items we wanted to purchase. (Scrabble tiles and few toy bundles that were like 1 to 3.) We were at the back of the store when suddenly the cashier appeared and said to my husband in an agressive tone "where did you get that? Is that yours? Did you bring it into the store?" He told her no. We got it from a booth not too far down. That we wanted it. She must have seen my face of surprise and disgust. She then proceeded to change her tone of voice and insisted on taking it up front and holding it at the register. "So, we can have our hands free." We gave it to her to hold. I waited a bit to see if she questioned any more patrons about their items and offered to hold them... she did not. We then left without purchasing anything. Refusing to support ignorant deplorable behavior. There were other items I wanted. Luckily, I wanted to wait til we were ready to leave since they were breakable. I can only imagine her demeanor if we had those items. Response: Your cashiers aggressive tone and hastened speech pattern says otherwise. "Where did you get that?!" As the first words in an aggressive manor is not at all friendly. Your dismissal of me already stating this, and your response in telling me what transpired tells me this behavior is supported. Also, it is not my responsibility to fix your establishments ignorance and profiling. I left the review so my fellow BIPOC community doesnt experience this or worse. So very much so warranted.
