1 /5 Kuukua K: Listen yall...tonight I went to this Marshalls and was discriminated against so blatantly. I was shopping for a work bag and literally was browsing to buy. I came with a purpose and walked straight to bags when I arrived. About 5 minutes into browsing here comes one of the workers saying I called for help. At first I was like no I didnt, then it hit me, she had probably been sent to check on me. No worries, I said I didnt ask for help; she stood for a minute and then walked off. So I continued browsing and did a thorough sweep of all bags and backpacks. I returned to my first choice which was tethered and i was making a decision when I saw the same staff person helping another customer who happened to be white and young. She unlocked a purse, the beeps went off, she fixed it and took it off its tether. She handed it to the girl and she went on her way. I called her over. She soured and then asked which one I wanted. I dragged it out and she unlocked it. Since she had handed the other girl her purse after unlocking it, I stood still waiting to be handed the purse to go pay. She looked up briefly and informed me it would be at the cash register waiting for me. I didnt want to make a fuss so I just walked away and went to get in line to go pay for the bag. But I was shaking my damn head the whole time. Inhave half a mind to call corporate but I dont know if they do anything. This happened at empower fcu in syracuse and corporate backed them up saying it couldnt be racism or discrimination. America for you! And all i wanted to do was spend some of my money with them.
