4 /5 Joshua Holten: I recently visited the Target – Riverhead at 1150 Old Country Rd in Riverhead and overall I had a good experience. For starters, the store hours were convenient (open from 8 am until about 11 pm most days).
What I liked:
There’s a Starbucks café inside the store, which is a great bonus for grabbing a coffee while shopping.
The parking lot is large and I was able to find a spot easily, even during a midday visit. Some reviews confirm similar good parking experiences.
The store felt clean and organized. I found what I needed (electronics, home goods, some groceries) without too much trouble, and staff seemed friendly when I asked for help.
What could improve:
While the store itself was in good shape, I noticed that some of the “Order Pickup” / Drive-Up processes seemed slower than ideal (staff retrieving items from other parts of the store). One review pointed this out:
“If you do order pickup… the rep finds your order via their mobile scanner… and then must walk to the other side of the store … No time saved.”
One safety concern: there was a report of a “terrifying” parking lot incident at this location, where a woman reported someone photographing her car/plate. While this doesn’t reflect daily experience, it’s something shoppers should be aware of.
Final thoughts:
If you’re looking for a one-stop at a major retailer on Long Island, Target Riverhead is a solid choice. Good hours, good parking, and the added café make it more than just a quick in-and-out store. With slight improvements in the pickup process and perhaps parking lot security, it could easily earn a full five stars. I’ll likely go back when I need a range of items and don’t want to hop between stores.
