1 /5 Andella2000: My best friend dropped her wedding dress off 2 1/2 months before her wedding date. She needed multiple alterations: a hem, taking it in multiple inches in the bust, and consulted with Melissa regarding the possibility of adding straps and a bustle to her dress. Melissa told her she "was early" in bringing the dress in and that she had plenty of time to finish the job. There were to be multiple dress fittings for the dress because of the possibility of having more alterations done to it after the initial hem. After more than a month and not hearing anything, my friend called to check on the status of her dress. A man answered the phone, explained that Melissa was unavailable and that he would have her call her back. No calls ever came. Down to 2 weeks before the wedding I called in to check on the status of the dress. Melissa admitted to me that she hadnt even started the dress yet! She insisted that we shouldnt be worried and that she would call my friend by the end of the week to let her know when she could come in to try it on. This is preposterous seeing as there were to be multiple fittings and the dress had been there for over 2 months. She never called my friend back. Now here we are 4 days before this wedding. My friend called to check on the status of her dress and was told by a woman who wasnt the owner that Melissa is still working on it... This is horrible customer service. When someone is planning a big event, like a wedding, communication is key! It is definitely not okay to string a bride along with no communication leading up to the week of her wedding. I absolutely would not recommend this service to anybody in the Meadville area who needs something as important as a wedding dress altered.
