1 /5 Atefeh kharabati: I visited the Sierra store in Scranton recently with my 4-year-old son. He had a small toy police car and was playing on the floor near me while I was shopping. An employee came over and told him to stand up, saying it was “traffic” and he might get hurt. I understand the safety concern, but the way it was said felt unfriendly and unnecessary. My son is only 4, and I believe staff should be more patient and understanding with mothers who have small children. It’s not easy shopping with a toddler, and we weren’t disturbing anyone.
The store was not busy at all — there were only a few customers — so the situation could have been handled with more kindness. After that, I went to the register, and the employees there were not friendly either. When I asked where to leave my small cart, one told me to return it in the middle of the store near the mirrors in a dismissive tone. Even when I said “thank you, have a good night,” no one replied.
The overall experience felt cold and unwelcoming. I didn’t feel respected as a customer, and unfortunately, I don’t plan to return to this location again.
