2 /5 Clethia: It was a Saturday morning, and this was my first time visiting the store. I was genuinely excited to stop by because my entire family are graduates, and I came in to pick up some gear and gifts. When I walked in, I immediately noticed how clean, organized, and well-kept the store was. I really appreciated that.
Unfortunately, my experience with one of the associates completely overshadowed the positives. A young lady approached me and asked if I needed help. I politely told her, “No thank you,” because it was my first time in the store and I wanted to browse freely. Despite that, she continued to approach me multiple times asking the same question, even after I had clearly declined.
It also began to feel uncomfortable. For example, if I picked up an item to look at the tag, she would come right behind me and “fix” the shirt as if I had done something wrong. After the third “No thank you,” she came back again and asked to hold all of my items, which felt more like hovering than helpful customer service.
At that point, my shopping experience was completely interrupted. I ended up cutting my browsing short and checking out with the items I had. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I do not plan to return to this location. Respecting a customer’s space is just as important as offering assistance, and this young lady’s approach made me very uncomfortable.
