1 /5 hillary ramage: I assumed I might be overreacting because I’m 9 months pregnant, but after reading the other 1-star reviews, I’m confident this is just how this place operates sometimes.
I went in to shop this morning and realized I had a ton of clothes to sell, so I went home and packed up a large bin of spring items, one of those giant black Home Depot tubs with the yellow lid. The kind that requires spousal assistance to lift. I figured bringing it in full and leaving lighter made sense, considering I am very visibly about to give birth.
I get to the counter and the woman working the register looks at me and says, “This needs to be on hangers.” No hello, no explanation, just mean girl vibes. I said I’d happily put them on hangers and asked if customers are expected to bring their own, since no one mentioned that earlier when I asked if they were buying clothes.
No answer. No solution. Instead, she peers into the bin and announces, “Looks like you only brought winter stuff.” (It was one shawl.)
After I clarified that, she stared at me like I’d personally inconvenienced her. At that point I said, “Okay, I guess I’ll just leave,” and then proceeded to struggle lifting a massive bin and bag while extremely pregnant. She did not offer help, acknowledgment, or basic human decency, just continued the silent judging.
I’m especially bummed because I actually like this store and every other employee I’ve encountered has been lovely. They also play Christian music nonstop, which really adds a special layer of irony to the complete lack of kindness.
Rude, unhelpful, and wildly uninterested in customer service. Probably not the best fit for someone working with customers.
