1 /5 Jezebel Urquieta: I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the treatment my friend and I received at the Aeropostale in the Glendale Galleria. The employees on shift were unprofessional, rude, and made the environment incredibly unwelcoming.
We entered the store at 8 PM, an hour before closing. A customer before us asked to use the fitting room, and the employee told her, “We can’t let you try on due to the store being messy and customers coming in.” After the customer questioned this, another employee quietly opened a fitting room for her without further explanation. When I politely asked the same employee if my friend could try on four items to confirm her size, she asked how many and then refused, repeating that they “needed to close” and my friend had “too many” items. So I pointed out that she had just allowed someone else to use the fitting room, which was unfair. Instead of explaining, she raised her voice at us and continued to deny service. When we asked for her name, she refused, only claiming to be the manager, something I highly doubt given her behavior. After insisting, she eventually told my friend her name was “Brianna,” but she was stuttering and seemed hesitant, making it appear dishonest. I then asked another employee at the register, who had curly hair, but she also refused to provide the name, saying, “If she’s not giving it to you, then I’m not telling you.” The level of immaturity displayed by both employees was astonishing. As we were leaving, the employee who claimed to be the manager continued giving attitude and raising her voice toward my friend. When confronted about her tone, she denied being rude even though it was obvious. I will not be returning to this store. It is clear why it rarely has customers, especially this type of behavior creates a hostile and unprofessional environment. The employee in question, who claimed her name was “Brianna,” was wearing a Hello Kitty shirt, had a slick bun, black hair, and glasses. I strongly urge management to review security footage from this incident and address this employee’s behavior. Someone with such hostility and lack of professionalism should not be representing your brand.
