1 /5 Reema Chahal: I visited Evotique today with my aunt and cousin while helping my cousin look for wedding jewelry. Unfortunately, the customer service was very disappointing.
Upon entering, one of the owners, Navjit, asked what we were looking for. I stated that we were interested in wedding jewelry. She replied that the jewelry section was closed and that we could look around, but the interaction felt unwelcoming.
As we continued browsing, no assistance was offered except by an older staff member who was polite and helpful. Shortly after, Navjit approached again and stated that viewing jewelry required an appointment and that she did not want to clean up jewelry afterward or “deal with it.” Based on this interaction, we decided to leave.
As paying customers, this felt dismissive and unprofessional. The experience gave the impression that there was little interest in showing us pieces or assisting us further. Whether intentional or not, it felt as though assumptions may have been made about our seriousness as buyers. In reality, affordability was not a concern, and we were prepared to make a purchase.
Additionally, Evotique advertised a 70% off sale referencing bridal and party wear. Once inside, we learned the discount applied only to clothing, which was not clearly communicated in the advertisement.
Bridal shopping should feel welcoming and professional, and unfortunately that was not our experience here.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how customers are spoken to, as no paying customer should feel unwelcome or dismissed.
