2 /5 tina lowery: Im a huge fan of TJ Maxx. I have shopped there for years. However, this was the first time that I have ever been in this particular store. I was in Florida visiting my brother, who is in the hospital. I forgot my hairdryer. So I ran into TJ Maxx to purchase one. I was shocked as soon as I walked in. The entire store was a complete mess! Items laying around in the wrong departments, the beauty section had no order to it. It looked like someone opened up a box of shipment and just threw it on the first shelf they saw. Items out of their boxes. It was just a total mess. I have never been to a TJ Maxx that was so messy, unorganized, and in such shambles. I found a hairdryer, went to the line to pay for it, and found myself waiting for over 15 minutes in line. Yes, there was a long line. But they had six or seven registers going, and I was probably the 8th customer back. So it shouldnt have taken that long. But the reason it did was because of the lack of urgency and proficiency of the cashiers. They were extremely slow and didnt seem to care about customers waiting. One of the cashiers that I have posted a picture of below was so blatantly obvious about trying not to wait on customers that it blew my mind that the others werent getting upset with her. She was extremely slow ringing up items, she would then take only one hanger at a time to hang up in a area behind her instead of taking a stack of them, she would slowly walk around piddling with items on the cash wrap station, walk down to speak to other cashiers as the rang up customers, and do whatever she could do to stall. I counted that the cashier beside her took 3 customers to her one and called for her 4th. before this lady finished with her customer, which did not have a lot of items. It was so bad that I made sure to get a picture of her. As a previous manager of a retail location for over 17 years, this is the type of employee that costs you money and time. I would not have allowed her to work for me! So, all in all, this was the worst experience I have ever had at TJ Maxx and the worst employees by far. I am just happy that this is not the store I would have to go to on a regular basis, or I would no longer be a TJ Maxx customer.
