1 /5 Debbie Simler-Goff: The absolutely most deplorable treatment I have ever received in my life. I come to this store 3-4 times a year when I am down here visiting family. It has for many many years been a most wonderful highlight of my trip.
But today, I walked in and there were no other customers in the store and there were two sales people, one the manager and another younger one.
I was not greeted or acknowledged.
After a full 10 minutes I was still not acknowledged or spoken to.
I had an arm full of clothes to try on and when I asked to be let into a room I was a given a dirty look, an attitude and sarcasm!!
If you read my other reviews you will see that I never try to throw anyone under the bus. I mean we all can have a bad day.
So I thought, okay I will give the benefit of the doubt. After another 10 minutes in the dressing room no one came to check on me etc... offer help.
AND REMEMBER there was no other customers in the store but me.
The two sales rep continued in their chit chat as I came out of the dressing room to inquire about if they had straight skirts maybe I didn’t see etc...
Again I was given dirty looks and sarcasm by the younger if the two.
At this point the manager seemed to catch herself and did try to help me and make some small gesture and helping... but not a great deal. For example I mentioned I needed another dress size and the manager just looked at me so I went and found the change in dress size myself.
When I asked where to put the clothes that didn’t work for me again the younger one said... “ What did you do with the rest of the clothes?”
No offer to help.
No offer to take the clothes.
I go to Catos anytime I can when I travel in multiple states and have always been treated with high quality customer service and extreme helpfulness.
This was in no way what I have come to know of Cato’s standard.
When I was checking out, again the younger girl was quite abrupt and gave me dirty looks.
All I did was ask for a room to try on clothes. I was pleasant and kind. This can only be explained as DISCRIMINATION!!
In all my years of reviewing I have only called a corporate complaint line once.
This is the second time.
I will post what and how they respond!
