5 /5 Trudiann: Im giving the store a 5 star albeit I had a poor experience yesterday. The 5 star is solely because prior to yesterday, I have received great customer service from the team at this location.
Yesterday I decided to go window shopping, as I often do to clear my mind. I went to Nordstrom and noticed a you f lady in one of the shoes aisles and thought nothing of it until I kept seeing her in eveey single aisle that I went to. I continued trying on shoes and doing what I went to do - window shop. While window shopping, I saw necklaces that I liked for my mom and friends and decided to purchase the 4 necklaces. The cashier and I sparked conversation and as usual, the interaction was pleasant. After making the purchase, I went home and decided to go back for another necklace that I saw and liked for one of my friends. Upon returning, I saw the same woman and assumed like me. She spends a lot of time walking around in stores. After grabbing the necklace that I returned to purchase, the woman suddenly appeared at the cashiers counter and reached behind the counter. I then assumed she was loss prevention. She waited until I was next in line and went behind the counter and called to so that she could ring me up. With a background in security, I thought it was odd for loss prevention to ring up a customer.
I went home and processed things and realized I was profiled. I went to the store this morning to return the necklace that I purchase during my second store run yesterday, and spoke to the Manager on duty and explained everything that transpired yesterday, I felt heard. He was apologetic and assured me that they do not stand for those types of things. While making my return, I asked the cashier if the name on the receipt is who rings up the customer, and she said yes. The name on the receipt on Jose, H. She said the cashier to her left is the one whose name is on the receipt, I told her he didnt ring me up; that it was a Black woman with braids and she was wearing a light blue headband. She asked Jose, H who used his credentials and he said a name that begins with a "T", I didnt catch it.
Not only was I profiled by that employee, she was using someone elses credentials to ring customers up. That is unethical in the retail industry and she should be held accountable for her poor customer care.
I will most definitely be a returning customer.
