1 /5 Jacob Edersheim: I had a poor interaction with the store employees during my recent visit. I walked in with a few other customers, and while the girl and man at the counter were having a private conversation, the girl greeted us by saying, “Hi everyone, welcome on in,” but no one responded. The gentleman behind the counter then added that if anyone needed anything to let them know, to which another customer politely replied, “Thank you.” He then responded with, “No problem, I was just checking that everybody wasn’t mute.”
This comment felt unnecessary and unprofessional, and it made the shopping experience uncomfortable. It’s difficult to feel welcomed or want to approach the register to make a purchase after remarks like that.
