The Hideaway Home & Goods - Galena

Rating: 5 /5
A. C. Vintage here is next level. Think: decanters, cocktail glasses, coffee table books, tchotchkes, wall art, a wide variety of thoughtfully-curated items which one might call ‘home decor. Not to speak for my generation, but I think millennials & older Gen-Z folks in particular would be drawn toward this store, as there’s a quiet nostalgic vibe that I think folks in their late 20s - mid 40s would understand & appreciate. That said, adults of any age may find something that speaks to them here! Nothing really for kids. But that’s cool, there are plenty of stores in town to keep the kids busy. A modest but impressively curated selection of authentic VINTAGE men’s & women’s clothing. There are even men’s & women’s fragrances here. It’s like … Imagine you find a really cool, unique vintage t-shirt at Goodwill. It can feel like you’ve found a needle in a haystack. The Hideaway is like a haystack full of needles. Examples provided in photos aren’t great - merely a glimpse into what you can expect to see!

Galena Book & Paper - Galena

Sarah Oberg Ramirez This book shop is the perfect addition to Main Street! The shop is beautifully organized, and they have a very well curated selection. There’s a cute children’s selection at the back of the store, in addition to a small used book section with some amazing deals. I purchased three books on my first visit, and there are several more I’d love to buy! I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend stopping in.

AMAS BOUTIQUE - Chicago

Rating: 4.7 /5
Helen Shih My review is going to be a bit unusual, but I was walking through Rogers Park when I was suddenly followed by a man, about 20-30 years old, wearing a black puffy jacket, black hat, and red pants. I couldn’t see his face clearly but I think he was either Mexican or black (or mixed) as he tried to speak English and Spanish to me. He and I walked past each other and when I turned my head to look behind me he followed me. He followed me for about 2 blocks before I decided to duck in to AMA’s boutique, where it was well lit and clean. I talked to the store owner and her daughter and explained my situation and they very kindly let me stay in the store and call a Lyft to avoid the man following me. They were very nice and I would’ve loved to buy something in the store but my Lyft came very quickly. Super grateful for AMA’s store owner and daughter for their kindness!!! I’ll be back on a sunny day in the near future to express my gratitude!!

Micah We love OUAC - BLOOMINGTON and their staff. Their buy prices are fair for a quick sale & they always have great selections. My children would rather spend their money here than any store. The owner and the ladies working are always attentive, polite and welcoming. I’ve been going here since they opened at their old location and can’t say more great things about their new location! 10/10
