2 /5 Cindy G: Staff here at 49th street need to be better trained relating to diversity, micro-aggression including treating people from all background with equal respect. When I entered the store, I noticed that I was not greeted at all, while other customers were greeted multiple times by the staff. Throughout my 30-minute visit and purchase, there were several occasions when I come close to store associates, but deliberately ignored. This made me feel uncomfortable, that I was excluded and not valued as a customer.
I hope the store will take this seriously and make improvements to ensure a welcoming inclusive environment. In an immigrant city like New York, I expect businesses to embody these values.
