Old Navy - (Near Albany, NY)

3 /5 Victoria Lacagnina: EDIT: I decided to detract a couple stars because although this store is decent it is nowhere fit enough to warrant a full 5 stars. I do like this store and I like old navy, but the clothes in particular are more practical, comfy, and convenient in terms of style as opposed to the cuter, trendier styles I prefer. Back when I was overweight the selections were preferable, but now that Im healthier I find I prefer the cute styles you can find at other stores. For how the clothes look I feel that they are frequently overpriced when not on sale and the quality doesnt quite match up enough. Unfortunately, at least at this store, the sales are few and far in between and very poor; and so you are then limited because you dont want to spend $40 on a single item of clothing that isnt particularly remarkable but nice enough to consider. My criticism for this store in particular is that I think it is just too small and so in consequence the amount of choices and products for women are greatly limited; the womens section is quite small. I went there a couple days ago (during fall season) and a large chunk of the store was dedicated to pajamas....which is nice, but I feel like with the limited space it already provides that its too much - more space should have been made for more clothing options/styles. Im disappointed in the lack of style options for bottoms. There were just jeans and pants from summer season available... Old Review: Love this store. I always manage to find cute, stylish clothes here that fit and the people working there are always friendly. Old Navy stores are always great and this one is no exception. It has womens, childrens, and mens clothes. It even has a restroom you can use too! The sales are decent too whenever they have them.

2 /5 Sarah Harris: If you have the option, I highly recommend visiting the Old Navy locations in Niskayuna or Saratoga instead, even if it means a bit of a longer drive. This particular Old Navy is consistently disappointing. I usually stop in whenever Im at the mall, but I’ve decided it’s no longer worth the hassle. Every visit leaves me frustrated. The selection is noticeably lacking compared to other locations, and the clearance section is always disappointingly small. The biggest issue, though, is how understaffed the store is. I completely understand that this isnt the fault of the employees, Ive worked in understaffed environments myself, and its incredibly tough. However, it feels like the focus is more on venting about staffing issues than actually helping customers. During my most recent visit, the manager was the only one on register duty and moved painfully slowly. She stopped three separate times during a single transaction to talk to other staff members and assign them their roles for the day. I understand the need for coordination, but when there’s only one person in line behind me and Im already at the register, it makes sense to finish the transaction quickly and then handle staffing details. It ended up taking about 15 minutes to check out, and I was the only person being helped. If this had been a new employee, I would’ve been more understanding. But this was the manager. Between the poor service, the lackluster inventory, and the disorganized layout, I suggest skipping this location on your next mall trip. Unfortunately, Old Navys prices also aren’t what they used to be, making the experience even less worth it.

1 /5 Pelwasha Neyazy: I went to old navy today and it was the worst experience checking out. The lady at the register told me to open a card and said I’d get 30% off my purchase as I was checking out. She told me I was approved with a Mastercard and I was expecting to get the 30% off but she told me I would get the card in the mail and didn’t give me 30% off, she lied and tricked me into opening it and didn’t even give at least a 10% discount after she just explained that I would receive it. When I told her as it was time to pay why I didn’t get the discount she just dismissed me and said to wait for the card in the mail. It was unacceptable and ruined my whole experience she wasn’t upfront and lied from the beginning.
