Value Village - (Near Puyallup, WA)

1 /5 Tracy T.: I usually enjoy shopping here because the store is spacious and clean. However, my experience today was frustrating. I donated items earlier in the day and received a 20% off coupon. When I came back in the evening to shop, I had forgotten to bring the coupon. At checkout, I asked if it was possible to get a replacement, but the staff member with purple hair refused. It’s frustrating to donate for free and then be denied a simple replacement for a small 20% discount when coming back to spend money on other donated items. I understand policies, but a little flexibility and friendliness would go a long way in making customers feel appreciated.

1 /5 Jojo N: Poor customer service from assistant manager Jackie, extremely unhelpful and unwelcoming. There is a 2 for 1 cup (labeled as such) but one of the cups of this set was missing. I wanted to know whether they could either sell me 1 cup for half the price, or if I could add one that was near the same quality. She says there’s nothing she can do and I can either buy the 1 cup for full price or leave it. I left it. What then is the role of a manager? Jackie and her large head follows customers around the store while incapable of solving basic matters. Another disappointment is the prices across value village have doubled. A decent jacket starts at $35++. Items will literally have original tags on them and VV sells more than. When I asked for a price check, either 1. the person who prices is not in or 2. there’s nothing they can do about it…are the employees being held as hostage by hq? It’s laughable, shame. This location prior to 2020 was consistent with service and fairness. I do not recommend value village Puyallup.

1 /5 Stacy Zetterberg: This location shuts off all the main center lights in the store THIRTY MINUTES before closing. Its literally too dark to shop. I had to use my phone flashlight. The manager said the lights were on a "timer" because people just liked to keep shopping near closing. No other location Ive been to does this. Very unwelcoming, very unprofessional. That is what a "close" time is for - you remain open until that stated time. Curious if their corporate office knows the manager here is trying to get out so early. On another note, this location is WILDLY overpriced. Many items are priced even above what they are brand new at Costco or Walmart. I do not recommend shopping here. It has really gone downhill.

5 /5 Chet “Chet”: My favorite thrift store, I shop here all the time. Great variety of items: knick-knacks, toys, furniture, and especially clothes (I got my favorite leather jacket from here). Always clean and tidy. Employees are always polite and helpful. Prices are usually good, but Ill admit I see overpriced stuff occasionally.
